Green Kids one size nappies will fit most bubs from birth until toilet training. The one size nappies won’t be quite as trim as if you purchase a set of newborn sized nappies, but the savings can be considerable! However, if you would like a trimmer nappy for your newborn, please consider our Anytimes Newborn range, which suits babies up to approx. 7kg or 6 months. Please click on the link to the left, or read on to see how easy it is to use Green Kids one size nappies on your newborn baby :)

Tips for using the nappies on a newborn
- · Use the newborn fold, which involves folding down the rise of the nappy to make it smaller. You can then use the extra piece of Velcro on the front of the nappy to fasten it. Please see pictures below. This fold is secure enough to hold the nappy on a newborn, as they don’t move around very much. As your bub gets older (8-12 weeks) you will need to move on to the regular way of using the nappies.
- · Microfibre inserts are perfect for little newborns, as they are smaller and trimmer than the hemp and bamboo inserts. Although they are not quite as absorbent as the bamboo or hemp inserts, this is not quite as important in the newborn stage, as the nappies tend to be changed more frequently. These will help to provide a nice trim fit for the nappies. They can then be used later on as a booster in nappies for older bubs.
- · Make sure that the nappy follows the inner curve of the thigh when putting it on your bub, rather than straight over the top of the thigh. Also, make sure you stretch the back elastic nappy out quite firmly before fastening the nappy. There should be no gaping at the legs or back. This will ensure a nice, snug fit.
- · If you find that your baby needs more absorbency, try adding a smaller bamboo booster to the microfibre insert. This will provide additional absorbency while still keeping the nappy trim.
Newborn Fold
| Place the insert in to the nappy, and only pull it as far as the bottom of the Aplix, about 5cm from the end of the nappy. Lay the nappy out flat on the change table. |
 |
Bring the nappy up to your baby’s stomach, then fold down the front piece of Aplix to shorten the rise. |
 |
Pull one tab firmly over and fasten it to the suede cloth, ensuring that the nappy is snug around your babies leg. |
 |
Pull the other tab over and fasten to the front piece of Aplix, ensuring the nappy is snug around your babies other leg. |

This picture shows a Green Kids nappy folded to fit a new born (left) and a slightly older baby (right). The nappies will fit even larger than this, as you just continue to adjust where the tabs sit as their waist grows.
